Orb

Orb is a "Place Shifting" web based utility that offers the ability to stream video and audio content for free from your home based broadband connected media server to any internet enabled PC or handheld. I thought I'd check this out as I've had issues in the past trying to get this to work with the Beyond TV application I'm using as a digital video recorder.

Well, it works, kind of... I'm able to stream divx video and mp3 files, and I'm able to view all my jpg images I've taken with my digital camera. I can't stream live TV yet (which you're supposed to be able to do) and I'm having problems trying to listen to more than one mp3 file at a time. The same song keeps repeating.

Even with the current issues it has it's interesting technology and well worth looking into. It'll only get better!
